- •Enhance Brothers’ personal knowledge and interest in the game of golf
- •Keep Brothers abreast of the proper golf etiquette and current rules of the game
- •Develop and expand premium skill sets among RSGE participating Brothers
- •Encourage Brothers to demonstrate and share their golf talents throughout their chapter and community, and to proudly represent ΩΨΦ and RSGE in tournaments across the nation.
- •To ensure that at least one Rho Sigma brother earns his PGA tour card so that we can get free passes to all Major Golf tournaments.
- •Ensure that Brother’s costs for The RSGE are kept to a minimum.
Governance
RSGE is governed by a three person RSGE Committee. The Committee is responsible for adhering to the RSGE Mission and ensuring that brothers have a tournament that is well communicated, organized, timely, and is a great vehicle where Omega brothers can fellowship.
The Commission has a policy of fairness and clarity. In that vein, the Committee operates RSGE as a democracy. Brothers have the right to vote on any and all matters that the Commission allows them to.
The Commissioner
Brother Randle Smith
Brother Smith pledged at Rho Sigma Chapter at Purdue University. He was Dog 6, of the Wild Bunch, that crossed Omega Sands on April 13, 1974.
As "The Commissioner," Brother Smith strives to ensure that RSGE remains open to golfers of any level. He is extremely focused on keeping tournament costs low, making it easily affordable for brothers to have a great weekend of fraternization. Each year RSGE institutes tournament upgrades with the goal on enhancing brothers’ enjoyment. Brother Smith is committed to the continued improvement of RSGE, and to further cementing it’s position as one of the world’s most prestigious golf tournaments.
The Deputy Commissioner
Brother Anthony Freeman
Brother Freeman pledged at Rho Sigma Chapter at Purdue University. He was Dog 5 of the Satin’s First Five that crossed the Omega Sands on December 21, 1976.
Brother Freeman is "the brain behind" RSGE. It is his knowledge and hard work that has taken RSGE from a simple ideal, to one of the most renown golf tournaments worldwide. His dedication and work commitment is the engine that drives RSGE. Beyond the shadow of any doubt, Brother Freeman is the best Deputy Commissioner in the entire FRAT.
The Chief Operating Officer, and Keeper of Finance
Brother Richard Reed
Brother Reed pledged at Rho Sigma Chapter at Purdue University. He was Dog 2, of the Wild Bunch, that crossed Omega Sands on April 13, 1974.
Brother Reed is a relatively recent addition to the RSGE Committee, and his inclusion is one the best decisions that the Committee has made. His RSGE responsibilities range far and wide. He serves a dual role. Most importantly, he is in charge of the money. He sets financial policy, oversees collections and payments, and makes sure the tournament stays on budget. He is also RSGE’s tech guru. He is charge of all aspects of the website (in fact, he built the website). He is a valuable component of RSGE mechanics, and his voice carries significant weight in setting the future direction of the tournament.
